Desuperheaters for Textile Plant Steam

B-Tech Valve offers fixed-nozzle spray-ring designs, including the SPAD Small Pipe Attemperator Desuperheater and Steam Attemperator, as well as the LPD Large Pipe Desuperheater with a variable-nozzle, fully actuated control valve. The SPAD uses a fixed-nozzle spray-ring design and clamps between two steam pipe flanges. Feed water is supplied from a separate temperature control valve. Its pressure-class selection, water supply and operating arrangement should be evaluated against the textile plant’s steam line and control requirements.

The LPD is a probe-type desuperheater with a variable-nozzle, fully actuated control valve for steam pipes 6 inches and larger. It installs through a 90-degree flanged insertion on the steam pipe and combines steam temperature control and desuperheating in one assembly.

Specified B-Tech Valve desuperheaters are available in ASME B16.34 pressure classes 150, 300, 600, 900, 1500, 2500 and 2700. Products are rated for temperatures up to 1,200°F (650°C), subject to the selected design and application requirements.

Desuperheaters can help protect piping, steam traps and rotating seals by conditioning steam temperature before it reaches downstream equipment. They can also support increased steam heat-transfer capability and steam flow. Final equipment protection depends on correct sizing, installation, water control and operating conditions.

Replacement Parts for Desuperheater Valves are available as American-made components for component-level installation. They are compatible with ASME B16.34 pressure classes 150 through 2700 and are temperature rated to 1,200°F (650°C). B-Tech Valve also states that parts are stocked in-house for quick turnaround availability.
